Austrade holds The Women in Export Trade Day
An increasing number of businesses led by women are finding overseas success and women exporters looking to create similar markets for their own products will have an unique opportunity to network and learn about practical strategies during a one-day event organised by Austrade .
The Women in Export Trade Day will be held in Port Douglas at the Sheraton Mirage on 24 June 2007 from 10.30am. Participants will hear from an impressive line-up of successful local and international business women, market experts and export advisors through panels and workshops.
Topics will cover how to negotiate the practical steps to exporting, developing a business model for export services, using e-business and online technologies to enhance export success and mastering cross-cultural communication and negotiation.
The Women in Export Trade Day is a lead-in event to the 12th APEC Women Leaders’ Network Meeting from 25-27 June 2007 providing an opportunity to meet representatives from APEC markets.
The Australian Government Minister for Trade, Warren Truss, will provide the keynote address for the Women in Export Trade Day.
Truss said that with so many women providing exceptional leadership in Australian export performance, it is fitting that a day dedicated to business women in trade be held during APEC, the pre-eminent forum representing the world’s dynamic economic regions.
Eight of Australia’s top ten trading partners including China, Japan and the United States are APEC economies and there are outstanding examples of Australian business women helping to drive the increasing integration of these dynamic markets.
Austrade WA State Manager and National Coordinator for Austrade’s Women in Export program, Jenny Mathews, encouraged women exporters to attend.
Run in partnership with the Australian Government Office for Women, the Women in Export Trade Day provides an unparalleled occasion for business women to network with experienced Australian exporters, other local business women and APEC delegates.
