AFS to set up AFS Business School

Australian Financial Services Group Ltd (AFS) announced an exciting new initiative that will enhance the business and practice management skills of the dealer group’s senior planners and practice principals – the AFS Business School.

It is acknowledged that to build successful and profitable practices, financial advisers require three key skill sets:

  • The skills needed to provide professional planning solutions for clients
  • Communication skills that focus on selling, influencing and leading and
  • The business skills needed to create, develop and manage a successful business.
The AFS Business School will focus on the third of these skills set.

According to AFS, advisers and practice managers face ever-changing business challenges and the long-term financial well-being of their practice depends on flexibility, effective decision making, efficient execution and a commitment and involvement of staff.

They see the AFS Business School as an important plank in shaping the business experience, not the platform from which business success will spring.

The AFS Business School will commence in October for a select group of invitees who will participate in an interactive program that will broaden their perspective, ability, insight, and business acumen.

With the assistance of expert business and learning professionals, each component of the AFS Business School program will immerse the participants into challenging real life situations and they will be called upon to make decisions, analyze and address problems and help them to understand the impact of their choices on the business.

In order for modern dealer groups to remain relevant in the marketplace, they must continue to evolve their market offering and respond to the professional, business and personal development requirements of their advisers with innovative solutions and programs.

The AFS Business School goes beyond formulas and theory and will provide the participants with business expertise that can be applied to their respective practices with great success.
