Kaplan completes acquisition of FINSIA

Kaplan, Inc., a leading global provider of tertiary education and professional qualifications, has completed the acquisition of the education business of The Financial Services Institute of Australia (FINSIA).

The sale includes the assets and facilities of Finsia Education, the large provider of postgraduate courses in financial services across Australia and New Zealand.

Kaplan in Australia is a major provider of professional education and continuing professional development to the financial services, accounting and real estate sectors.

According to Kaplan, Finsia Education’s market leadership in financial services post-graduate education is an unrivalled strategic complement to Kaplan’s strength in vocational and continuing education in Australia.

This acquisition will allow them to leverage scale in the Australian and Asian markets and to promote the high standards in financial services education in Australia.

Kaplan will deliver Finsia Education’s complete range of services and programs, in addition to its own vocational offerings to professionals in finance, accounting, real estate and mortgage broking.

Finsia Education’s reputation for excellence in financial services education, combined with Kaplan’s global standing, will make Kaplan one of the leading private education providers in Australia.

Following the sale, Finsia will remain the leading membership body for financial services professionals across Australasia.

According to Finsia, the sale of its education arm to Kaplan is a positive step in its mission of maintaining excellence in financial services education and raising industry standards.

Going forward, Finsia will concentrate on building its membership activities and will review and endorse the education programs, which will be delivered by Kaplan.
