MAB Funds Management appoints senior managers

Roger Phipps headlines several key senior appointments at MAB Funds Management (MAB FM) during a time of significant growth for the group.

Phipps, who holds an MBA and Graduate Diploma in Business Administration, has recently been appointed to the strategic role of National Distribution Manager.

He is responsible for the distribution of MAB FM products within retail and wholesale markets, building strong relationships with key accounts and consultants.

During his eight years as Vice President Business Development with Legg Mason Asset Management, Phipps managed relationships with financial planning dealer groups, platform providers, research personnel and financial planners throughout South Australia, Western Australia and Tasmania.

He spent nine years at HSBC Asset Management as Senior Executive Managed Funds where his portfolio included product development and sales management.

According to MAB FM, 2007 and beyond will be a period of rapid expansion, both locally and globally for MAB Funds Management, and they have bolstered its team to accommodate this growth.

This is a particularly exciting time to be joining the team and they look forward to Roger building upon the strong results they have already achieved for investors.

With almost three decades of senior experience in the financial services industry, a significant part of Phipp’s previous work has been geared to the global equity market, including specialist regional equity funds and emerging market equities.

That experience aligns with MAB FM as it continues its expansion into the international market. The latest investment vehicle comprises a portfolio of grocery anchored shopping centres located in the United States through the MAB International Retail Trust (MIRT).

New Appointments to MAB Funds Management:

Along with plans to broaden MIRT they are looking at a range of options to support existing products, including property securities, wholesale property and property development funds.

MAB FM is also announced the further additions to the senior team: Toli Prantzos joins Fiona Grogan as Asset Manager following his time working with listed and wholesale property funds at Investa Property Group.

Kata Volarevic is Compliance Officer and Funds Administration after previous positions with AXA Funds Management and as Compliance Officer for the Australian Taxation Office. John Ryan has been appointed as Financial Accountant and was with William Buck Chartered Accountants.
